OurPlace is closed

Given the current sanitary situation due to the Covid-19, OurPlace has taken the difficult decision to close the Coworking as well as to suppress all room rentals until further notice.

The health of our Co-workers and external clients is a top priority. This is why we are compelled to take these measures to protect the health and safety of all. It is our responsibility to support the work of healthcare professionals in their fight against this pandemic and to do everything possible to stop the chain of contagion by closing all our work spaces.

In this unusual context, we can only encourage you to work from home, reduce your travel and social exchanges as much as possible and follow the guidelines previously communicated via the authorities.

We thank you very much for your understanding and solemnly call for a spirit of collaboration and solidarity from all of you in these uncertain times.

Tips on how to focus better at work

Is it hard for you to stay focused on one task? Do you struggle with low energy every time you want to start focusing on a new big project? These few tips will help you take a step back:

– Only YOU know how to manage your schedule. In other words: it’s up to you to decide which task is the most important on your list, which moment is the best to fix this or that appointment.

– Take a break, even if your daily to-do list seems impossible to get over with.  If you take time to stop for a moment, you’ll be much more productive afterwards, trust us! 

– Don’t skip new or changing elements just to “save time”. New ideas, encounters and concepts can often inspire us in unexpected ways. 

– Remember: no one is perfect! Calm your expectations and perfectionism and be satisfied with what you’ve already accomplished.

In coworking spaces like OurPlace, many entrepreneurs spend their days trying to make progress for their multiple projects. If you are one of them, juste remember these tips in times of procrastination, and use your workspace to find support from other coworkers.

Looking for the ideal planning app

Sometimes, as a freelancer or a startuper, the day to day life is so dense that we tend to rely on mobile applications to help us see things more clearly. But here’s the fact: we often spend more time organizing the software that’s supposed to help us, than actually getting things done.

Alexandra Samuel of the Harvard Business Review suggests that we rethink the way we interact with the software by using it cleverly: first of all, it is essential to identify the tools you actually need. Is it a reverse scheduling, a project classification or an online brainstorming? This identification process will help you get where you need to go. 

Another tip: start small. There’s no point in pouring all your data into a freshly downloaded application if you notice 2 hours later that the functionality you need the most is not available. Start small, test everything and, if all goes well, keep on going.

To conclude, don’t forget that two apps are sometimes better than one: never hesitate to ask about integration possibilities, which allow you to use several apps for one single project!
